Community guidelines
Eight rules. They're short on purpose. If you can keep these, you'll be welcome here. If you can't, the consequence ladder below applies — same for everyone, founders included.
-
1
Show up.
Cancelling within 1 hour of session start counts as a strike. Life happens — give your partner notice so they can do something else with that hour.
-
2
Be on time.
Sweatty time-stamps arrival via geofence. Fifteen minutes late counts as a strike. If you're running late, message — most partners will wait.
-
3
Train.
Sweatty is for training, not dating. Sport not romance. If you want to ask someone out, do it after the session, once, and accept the first no. There are better apps for the rest.
-
4
Verify before chatting.
Photo liveness gates the chat surface. Don't ask a match to skip it. Don't share contact details before you've both passed.
-
5
Block + report bad behaviour.
Silence enables it. If a partner crossed a line with you, they'll cross it with the next person. Tap the profile, choose Report, give us one line — we'll handle the rest.
-
6
Public places for first sessions.
A gym, a park, a climbing centre, a public running route. Never someone's flat or a private home gym for the first session. We'll back you to leave any setup that doesn't feel right.
-
7
No medical, dietary, or pharmacological advice.
Don't diagnose your partner. Don't prescribe supplements. Don't share peptides, SARMs, or anything else that needs a doctor. Refer out — to their GP, an SR-qualified dietitian, an actual coach.
-
8
Respect the level.
Don't push someone past their pace for your ego. Don't load their bar without asking. If you're stronger, faster, or more experienced, train at their level for the session — that's the deal.
Consequence ladder
1st strike — warning. We tell you what triggered it and what happens next.
2nd strike — 7-day pause. Account is read-only for a week. No new matches, no chat, no sessions.
3rd strike — permanent ban. Account closed. Phone and email are flagged so re-signup with the same identifiers is blocked.
Serious breaches (harassment, threats, criminal behaviour, fraud) skip the ladder. Credible reports of those freeze the account immediately pending review and lead to a permanent ban if confirmed.
Appeals
You can appeal a strike or a ban once. Write to safety@sweattyapp.com within 14 days of the action. Tell us what happened from your side and what you'd like us to reconsider.
A different reviewer from the one who made the original call will read your appeal. Initial response within 48 hours, full decision within 7 days. We'll explain the outcome either way.
